When downtown Los Angeles was slowly becoming a destination rather than a place to avoid, The Last Bookstore set up shop in 2005. Now the largest new and used bookstore in the state, it has itself become a destination reminding us of the importance of a
sense of place over consumerism.
Desert showers bring wildflowers…Did you know that the California Poppy became the state flower in 1903? Or that April 6th was California Poppy Day? It’s purpose is to encourage learning about native plants and conservation.
